I Hate Goodbyes.

I like that eye..

Today has felt like a Saturday. It's been slow, calm, and gray and I have known more cloudy Saturdays than cloudy Thursdays. Anyways, I have been kind of bumming out because awesome people will work with me no more after tomorrow. I don't want to go to work to say goodbye...I don't want to say goodbye at all for that matter. Change is not my friend when it comes to letting go of something that I have come to really enjoy. I'm sure I'll see at least 2 of these people on a regular basis. At least, I hope to see them on a regular basis, but anyways, I digress.

My mom pointed something out to me. I am living a movie stars life without the fame, money, and glamour of it all. They go through the same thing. They work with certain people for 5 months to a year and then after their job is done, they go their seperate ways, maybe to never be in the same room with each other ever again. It's hard to meet new people, enjoy their company, then have to stay while they all go wherever it is that they're gonna go. My parents think that's why so many celebs fall in love while shooting a movie: because they want something perminent from that part of their life and they find it in another person...But then dump them a little while later.

Granite point, Downtown Moscow, Bonners Ferry, Canada, Elk River, Couer d' Alane lake, and people...these are the places that make my summer complete.

Name That Author.

Here's a VERY happy Banks...Age 13:)

Music to hear, why hear'st thou music sadly?
Sweets with sweets war not, joy delights in joy.
Why lovest thou that which thou receivest not gladly,
Or else receivest with pleasure thine annoy?
If the true concord of well-tuned sounds,
By unions married, do offend thine ear,
They do but sweetly chide thee, who confounds
In singleness the parts that thou shouldst bear.
Mark how one string, sweet husband to another,
Strikes each in each by mutual ordering,
Resembling sire and child and happy mother
Who all in one, one pleasing note do sing:
Whose speechless song, being many, seeming one,
Sings this to thee: 'thou single wilt prove none.'

I secretly like this author, I don't show it, but I do...who is it???:) The winner gets their favorite food bought by me.

hey cool.

Japan
40% Warlike, 55% Spartan Living, 12% Socialist

You would fit very well into the Japanese nation. Despite your love of
technology, personal space and gain are simply not important to you.
Instead, you focus on the good of your people, with whom you are very
close-knit. Although this blind loyalty may often lead you towards
conflict, this happens due to little or no personal want. You believe
in free trade as necessary to increase wealth, but not to the extent
that it is a detriement to the beliefs of your society. Loyalty is
ultimately of paramount importance to you.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Aloha

Way back when Hawai'i was nothing but flowers and mud huts, there was a certain ritual that I think dating should still have. The young men of the tribes who had a certain lady in mind would write a song especially for her and perform it on an instrument called the Nose Flute.(If ya donno what that is, google it.) So, they'd write their song and play it to the lady they wanted to court/marry. Now here's the catch: If the girl didn't like the song that he wrote her, she would not go out with him, so if he REALLY wanted to win her over, he'd keep writing her nose-flute songs until he finally won her over with the perfect melody and that would then become THEIR "song".

Perdy crazy! Immagine if that still went on today, girls. A relationship based on music, that concept's awesome to me. Not to mention the GUYS would actually be doing something besides acting aloof.;)

In my tour at the Bishop museum in Hawai'i, I learned that before the caucasians came to Hawai'i there were no diseases at all in Hawai'i. But then the British and French and everyone came over, brought the plague with them along with leprasy WHICH eventually led to the sick Hawai'ians being sent to Malakai so that they could just die in peace. Malakai was the quarentine sight for TONS of lepers. Pretty sad, but I still think it's amazing that they didn't have any disease the first 200 years of being on the island. It may be safe to say that it was a second Garden of Eden.

I went running yesturday and ran about a good 2 miles or so, and you know what? Running in Moscow isn't NEARLY as fun as walking in Hawai'i. I'm pretty sure everyone in the entire country could have told you that, but it's just sooo different. Walking in Hawai'i lets you see things that you may never see again as well as see PEOPLE you will definately never see again. Moscow's the same as it was when I was 2, I love it, but it's getting uncontrolably routine.

Waikiki Beach at night is one of the most theraputic things you could do for yourself. If you just sit and look at those waves....OOOOOOOO man, there's nothing like it in the world. You could sit by Hordomans pond and watch the fish jump up, but that's not really quite the same thing. GO TO HAWAII

*~*

The birds chirp to entice you to join them in the day
As a Hawai’ian sun greets you with harsh, glowing rays
By early morning, it’s bright and new with the oceans melodic force
The town’s still asleep as the merchants stir to make a days living come true

The afternoons are busy and hot as people go about on their quests
By mid day everyone’s been somewhere new, and all know what they liked best
Lunches are had and naps are taken as the sun keeps going firm
Kids run with white noses and red backs: the ultimate Hawai’i burn.

The nights are lazy and calm as everyone starts to relax
With the cool breezes and tropical drinks sitting upon their slacks
Musicians come out, and shouts are increasing as day turns into dusk
Fine jewelry made of diamonds and pebbles and hunks of walrus tusk

The Ocean’s carrying out its tune, as it has for years and years
With memories from around the world of fun, romance, and tears
The palm trees wont stop their sway, it’s what they know to do
People come and people go, but the palm trees stay right through

The plumeria keep their colours despite the change of light
They grow and fall right off the trees and are gathered during the night
They smell of peace and harmony, of innocence forever
Purity and simplicity are all they contain, through the foulest of weather
To have this flower behind your ear is perfect, good, and right.

The day is done, and night has come, it’s time to take a rest
But don’t forget the beauty of this island..It's the best.

googke

Did you know that if you accidently type Googke as opposed to Google, it still takes you to google? Cool, huh. I thought so.

I just got back from the 114th Moscow High School graduation. This time, it was all those kids that I know from WAAAAAAAAAY back in the day...and I beat them alllll to leaving highschool. Kicka$$. I hugged ALOT of people tonight. I could say 39 and be totally accurate. I am trying to use the word "like" less in my vocabulary and so far, it's going horribly. I made Mr. Nadreau frusterated cuz I said it alot around him supposedly. Heehee, it's become a habit to me, gotta tame that thaaaaaang.

Did you know that a habits usual time necessity in order for it to form is two weeks? It's pretty cool if you think about it. I need to read my Bible more, for all of you out there that pray, pray that I'll do it more often than I do because though I am a Christian, Christians can't grow without something to nurture them. So technically if I start reading my bible every night starting tonight, in two weeks I'll be addicted to it! That would be GRAND! I need a healthy addiction, sugar just doesn't do me much good.

I like Chinese and Japanese proverbs. Though those cultures' spiritual mindset may be off in some situations, they produce good, basic common sense to lend out to the general public. Wanna see some? Of course you do!

CHINESE PROVERBS:

*
After three days without reading, talk becomes flavorless*
* Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still*
* Better a diamond with a flaw then a pebble without one*
* Clear concience never fears midnight knocking*
* A closed mind is like a closed book ; just a block of wood*
* Dream different dreams while on the same bed*

JAPANESE PROVERBS:

* A
man in love mistakes a pimple for a dimple*
* A pig used to dirt turns its nose up at rice*
* Adversity is the foundation of virtue*
* Deceiving a deceiver is no knavery*
* Fall seven times, stand up eight*
* If a man be great, even his dog will wear a proud look*
* If a man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth and beauty*
* If you understand everything, then you must be miss-informed*
* Knowledge without wisdom is a load of books on the back of an ass*
* One kind word can warm three winter months*(Hahaha, not true, but nice wishful thinking anyways.)
* One who smiles rather than rages is always the stronger*
