REMEMBERING

...I'm doing it right now....So much, these things just keep coming to me. My first year at Montrose, My first friends I got there, the first time we all hung out, when I fell for my first guy there, how I kept falling until my heart couldn't take it anymore...Meeting my new youth pastor, meeting his family...Falling in love with his family...Befriending his children, going to him when I needed advice, falling asleep on their couch with Chad and Heather and Whitney screaming and laughing...Back to Montrose...Playing volleyball on Dayna's front yard...Jeff writing a list of good couples at school and then getting in trouble for it...Mark kissing me on the cheek as a dare, I didn't care, it made my night...2004, I meet my boys...Fall for Sam, unite with Daniel...Give up on Sam, still close as ever with Daniel...Fall for Daniel, don't tell Daniel...3 months later tell Daniel, he confesses the same thing...Still best friends...Hawaii! Calling people from home on the beach, missing Daniel,Chad, Anna, Dad, Samuel. Writing poems in the glow of a Hawaiian sunset....Working at the pool, Paul being my superior, Summer nights if 2006, sitting on main street with Joe and Caroline, Patty's Kitchen with Anna, country drives by myself, country drives with my sisters...The annual meteor shower.
I sometimes miss my memories to the point of wanting to cry, but these days I'm making new, different, wonderful memories. Some with the same people as above, some with totally new additions to my life. Whatever the case may be, wherever I go, every thing I love and remember will last forever in my mind even when life hides a rope for me to trip over...I'll fall on my face and it may hurt, but I've always been good at laughing at myself and that in itself is a covited skill.

You Are Sunrise

You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary.

You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward.

Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts.

All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

Disasters Bring Family Together.

My dad's siblings and he have never seen each other every year of their adult life. Recently my grandma's health deteriorated so quickly it was shocking. Dad and his sister and only brother all met together for the first time in about 7 years all together and talked about what to do. Now, his other two sisters are flying in from Seattle and Salt Lake City. I'm excited to see everyone, but the fact that it took their mom's health to fail for them to all come together is kind of sobering...Anyways, reunion non the less.
Today's cool and about 50 degrees. I don't have to wear a coat and dad's vacuuming out his car. I've been reunited with good country music again, so now my ears are being serenaded by Collin Raye. OLD country was good, very few artists these days are worth praising when it comes to country music...Or rock for that matter. Thank goodness for The Eagles, Boston, Little Texas, Ricochet, OLD Shania Twain,Bread, and Keith Urban.
Now! To coffee and an early Irish feast!

" Live life for all it's worth, take all that you've been given and leave a mark upon this earth."-Collin Raye-

What a Fabulous Night for a Swing Dance

AAAAMen to that! Remember the blonde guy with the bright blue eyes from last semester that I had two classes with? Yeah, I danced with him last night at country swing and he was REALLY GOOD! He does this thing where he pulls you into him and then to send you spinning he does this hip bump thing up against your hip and it was really really really cooool!
So much went on I can't even type it all it was THAT awesome, but lemme just say for now that country swing's the bomb....AND I have shania twain, taylor swift, and whoever sang strawberry wine STILL stuck in my head from all of this, but considering the circumstances, I'm willing to let them stay in here as long as they like. What a wonderful night...

3 in a row.

After playing outside and exploring her terrain my cat comes inside smelling like bacon. I don't know what it is that causes this, maybe the scent of her food mixed with the dirt on her fur, but whatever it is, she undoubtedly smells like bacon.
My friend Joe came into the shop today to show me a poem he had written. Mischief that inhabits his eyes was pouring into the room and with a smile he had me read the following poem he wrote for a class.

"Drug Use and Its Advantages and Disadvantages, Death being One Adverse Side Effect" By Joseph Mikler...

Hypnotic sedatives, barbiturates,
Consumed for peers, for pressure, fun, or fear
Have these adverse effects with opiates
Especially if taken after beer.

The symptoms vary but they do include:
Anxiety, some pressure in the chest,
Slurred speech, and elevated moods,
Internal bleeding, cardiac arrest.

But one advantage
tempts us to risk these frights,
Above dopamine, endorphins' bloom,
And serotonin-psychotropic heights,
To hazard hallucination and a tomb:

Though not desirable to make one wise,
at least it makes on dance well, in his own eyes.
